1969 – David Bowie releases Space Oddity.

1976Last Slide Rule Manufactured Today

             K&E produced its last slide rule, which it presented to the Smithsonian Institution. S common method of performing mathematical calculations for many years, the slide rule became obsolete with the invention of the computer and its smaller, hand-held sibling, the calculator.

1979Skylab Reentry

             The first American space station, Skylab, reenters the Earth’s atmosphere and burns up after plans for keeping it in orbit fail to materialize. Fragments of Skylab fell around Perth, Australia, killing one cow.

1991 – The Eclipse of the Century.

2005 – PowerPC 970MP.

2007Oracle 11g

             Oracle releases what they called the $10 billion /year Database software in Oracle 11g. It was the first update since 2004. Oracle’s what as refered to as an object-relational database management system (ORDBMS). It is produced and marketed by Oracle Corporation.

2008 – Apple’s second phone, the iPhone 3G went on sale, featuring 3G data connectivity.
